American hard rock musician whose macabre image helped define "shock rock". His style was influenced by Screamin' Jay Hawkins, who would rise from a coffin onstage. His song Reflected would be reworked much later into Elected. His real name is Vincent Furnier, but adopted the name of his band after they became popular. Influenced Rob Zombie. His Elected was originally recorded in the sixties when they were a psychedelic band. Most of his albums have gone at least gold. Numerous hit singles, some going at least gold.
